The story behind CoachingsNearMe.in: how searching for coaching in Teghra, Bihar revealed a broken discovery process, and why I set out to build a student-first academic platform.

Introduction

If you have ever been a student in a regional town in India, you know the feeling.

When a new academic year begins, or when board exams and competitive foundations start approaching, one question dominates every household conversation: Which coaching institute should I join?

You would expect that in the age of high-speed internet and smartphones, finding out which coaching center teaches Mathematics well, what their batch timings are, or what previous students thought of their physics teacher would take thirty seconds.

Instead, you find yourself walking through streets lined with paper flyers pasted on walls, asking neighbors for second-hand opinions, and joining random WhatsApp groups hoping someone mentions a reliable tutor.

Growing up and studying in Teghra, Bihar, I experienced this exact frustration firsthand. And as someone who loves building software, I couldn't stop asking myself: Why is something as important as education discovery still completely broken?

By building a solution that genuinely works here, we create a rock-solid foundation that can later be expanded to Begusarai, Patna, and other regional hubs with confidence.

Building a Product While Learning

As a developer and builder, creating CoachingsNearMe.in has been the most demanding and rewarding learning journey of my life.

I didn't want to build a theoretical demo—I wanted to build a production system that real students could open every day on their phones. This required mastering:

Next.js & React Server Components: Ensuring pages load instantaneously even on slower mobile network connections.
Static Site Architecture & SEO: Making institute profiles and educational resources easily discoverable by search engines.
Responsive UI Engineering: Crafting clean, accessible components with Tailwind CSS that feel native on any screen size.

What I'm Learning From Building It

Building a live product teaches lessons that tutorials never cover:

User Experience is About Clarity, Not Gimmicks: Students don't care about flashy animations; they care about finding out what time physics class starts tomorrow.
Local Trust is Earned Slowly: Verification and accurate information matter far more than having thousands of unverified listings.
Software Should Solve Real Friction: Every feature must directly eliminate a specific daily frustration.
